We’ve Hit 2,000 Digital Activism Cases!

The Global Digital Activism Data Set (GDADS) project has just collected its 2,000th digital activism case!  It regards digital aspects of the campaign against Uganda’s 2009 anti-homosexuality bill, which drew international condemnation because of its violently homophobic proposals.

The case source is an article by IRIN News, a news agency that focuses on humanitarian stories in regions that are under-reported and misunderstood.

The Digital Activism Research Project is passionately committed to open data.  Thirteen hundred cases are already available here, from GDADS version 1.0. The remaining cases 2.0 cases, currently being collected, will be made available this summer.
