Research Assistant Profile: Jonathan Lam

The Digital Activism Research Project hired six research assistants over the summer of 2013 to participate in the creation of the Global Digital Activism Data Set by analyzing digital activism case studies and turning them into machine-readable data (a process called “coding”).  These are their stories.

Name: Jonathan Lam

Degree Program: Sociology, University of Washington

Research Interests: Digital technologies and behavior, race, gender, stratification

Special Skills/Life Experience: previous content-analysis coding experience and past involvement in digital-activism campaigns

Most Memorable Case:   The campaign against Nickelback playing at a Lions game shows that there are a lot of people who don’t like Nickelback.
